Q. What kinds of services do you offer? 

A. A private duty caregiver is able to assist with non–medical care which includes personal care (bathing/showering, grooming, toileting), dressing assistance, meal preparation, light housekeeping (laundry, linen change, vacuum, dusting, tidy bathroom and kitchen), and transportation for various errands. Caregivers can remind clients about medications and distribute pre-portioned medications.  In general, our caregivers assist clients with daily activities of living.

 

Q. Where are you located and what areas do you serve?

A. LoveWell Home Care is located in downtown Northville and primarily serves surrounding cities within 30 miles. As a privately owned company, we are not restricted by area codes, cities or territories but serve our clients who are a reasonable distance from our caregivers.

 

Q. Who are you sending to my home?

A. At LoveWell Home Care, we have a selective recruiting and hiring process. It includes:

  • Initial phone interview
  • One-on-one interview with our management team
  • Individual screenings conducted - criminal history, drug, immunization and driving record
  • Past employers and references contacted
  • LoveWell Home Care Caregivers are insured and bonded to protect client’s liability
  • LoveWell Home Care Caregivers are employees of our company and receive W-2 and workers compensation

Once hired, our caregivers are supported by a training and engagement/retention program.

  • All LoveWell Home Care caregivers receive a core care certification from the Institute of Professional Caregivers, an accredited national organization
  • Custom training based on our client’s needs
  • Engagement program including incentives, rewards, appreciation

 

Q. Will we get the same caregiver every visit?

A. Our goal is to provide exceptional care to our clients. Depending on the amount of hours and days our services are needed, you can expect up to 2-3 caregivers to be familiar with the client. If you require 24 hours care the client can expect up to 5-6 caregivers depending upon the amount of care that is needed.

 

Q. Does insurance cover non-medical home care?

A. No, non-medical care is private pay or may be covered by some long term care insurance policies.

 

Q. How much does this service cost?

A. Hours of care are flexible based on our clients needs.  We require a 3 hour minimum per day for hourly rates.

Hourly Rate:      $24.00*
Couples Rate:   Will be determined based on needs

Long Term Care Insurance: Rates reflect service fees included for administrative work involved with long term care.

Hourly Rate:     $25.00*

Q. Is there a higher rate charged on holidays?

A. Yes, a higher rate is charged on holidays. The following holidays are observed:  New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve.

 

Q. How do I pay for the services?

A. No payment is ever exchanged with the caregiver. Clients will receive invoices on a weekly basis. Clients are able to pay for services with personal check.

 

Q. Do your services include transportation?

A. Our policy is as follows:  Due to insurance liability, if our client needs transportation, we prefer to drive their vehicle. If the client does not have a vehicle, our caregivers can drive the client in their personal vehicle, however, we ask client’s to sign a waiver of liability and mileage expense is charged to the client.
